I’ve lost count of the times a health professional of my acquaintance has told that they have referred Mrs X or Mr Y to me to have their diet, nutrition and lifestyle assessed. These professionals know that what and how their clients are eating is damaging their health, and is affecting their ability to benefit fully from the treatment they are receiving. Sometimes Mrs x or Mr Y will come to see me; sometimes they won’t; but every time their food or nutrition has been a factor, and something that is often relatively easy to change.
My mission has always been to help people to optimise their health and their life via optimising their daily eating. So many miss out because of their perception of what I do as a holistic nutritionist:
- they are afraid I’ll tell them they can’t eat their favourite foods;
- they just do not feel they have the time or money to do it on top of other treatments;
- they don’t understand how simple, yet crucial, it is!
My expanded mission now is to train mental health, medical, complementary, and fitness professionals how to quickly and effectively assess their clients for food, specific nutrition and diet, encourage necessary changes in a non-intrusive way, and give clients the tools to easily make the changes they need to for optimal recovery and health.
You’ll train in physical and mental health targeted assessment and intervention to complement the arena that you practise in. Food, nutrition and diet are integral factors in both physical and mental health disruption, as evidenced by a growing body of research. It’s also common sense in its purest form – our bodies and brains, and all their balance and functions, are created and supported by what and how we eat.
With nearly 25 years of practice experience, a range of training, and specialist knowledge in mental health nutrition, weight management, food addictions, gut disorders, auto-immune conditions and cancer recovery, as well as being a qualified, experienced teacher, I’m uniquely placed to be able to train YOU in how to do what I do initially with clients.
Learn how to assess how their diet is contributing to their health issues, what other factors might be aggravating them, and how to suggest easily achievable changes. You’ll also learn when a client does need further professional intervention to resolve root issues that will hold back their recovery or work with you.
I’m with you every step of the way, and supporting you throughout, so you will always have any advice or pointers that you need as you find your feet after certification. The full training takes approximately four months, dependent on progress and case study submission, and incorporates a mix of group training days/sessions with your fellow trainee coaches, 1-2-1 sessions, live practise, and access to training materials throughout.
