Description

The Kids’ Kitchen membership gives your children a monthly cookery class from home where they learn a range of recipes, cooking along with me in their own kitchens, along with the chance to share their creations, ask questions, and best of all, build the most important skill of all – how to feed themselves real food and prevent disease, for life!

An education in health, nutrition, and the connection between food choices and how they feel is crucial for young people’s future health and life chances – that much is agreed on at all levels. As an experienced teacher (I spent twenty years in the classroom), I understand children, and what motivates them to learn. Enthusiasm to get more vitamin C because it’s good for them won’t do it – making an apple snack or dessert that happens to use other healthy ingredients because it will help them run faster on the football pitch works better!

The impact of food on mental as well as physical health is a key connection that is often missing from mainstream conversations around diet, particularly for children who are experiencing a huge rise in anxiety. Research has confirmed the link between food and mood. The creative outlet, and the therapeutic aspects of cooking, are other ways that a regular class, along with other peers, can have a positive impact on their wellbeing, now and in the future.

The focus will be on simple ingredients, easily achievable methods, and tasty results. Supervise as much as you feel necessary, then enjoy their creation when we’re finished!

The club membership is £15 per month, with no obligation. Cancel at any time, and keep all resources – each monthly class will have a recipe, shopping list and nutrition info sent over in good time to prepare for the class.

To purchase the first month’s membership, go to checkout, and I’ll be in touch with details of the next class.
