When it comes to learning, nutrition related or not, the saying goes that it’s better to teach someone to fish than to give them a fish. I agree. We all know that fish is part of a balanced diet, but did you know why, or where else to find the important nutrients fish contain if you don’t like it?
Knowledge is power, and if you have ever wanted to really understand food and nutrition, here’s your chance!
Coming up as we jump into 2025, I’m re-running my 6 month nutrition course, now updated with extra sessions on the practical day to day shopping, cooking and eating know how that makes real food for real health work for anyone in real life. Apply what you learn to your loved ones of all ages as well as to yourself.
Health is so crucial, and there is more information out there than ever, especially with nutrition and food. It can be incredibly confusing to know what to do, when to do it, and why you should do it (or not!) when there is so much contradictory info from conflicting (and often, unqualified) sources. Learn to fish with me as I teach you everything you need to know for vibrant health and delicious daily eating!
The course will start on Monday January 27th 2025, and run for one evening a month, via Zoom, with 2 half day practical sessions, one at the halfway point, and one at the end. There will also be a private Facebook community for in between sessions.
What you’ll learn:
The Basics:
Macros, vitamins, minerals, nutrients, micronutrients – what are they? Where do we find them? What do we need? Why do we need it? Understanding the body, what it needs to fuel it, where to find that fuel, and what happens when it doesn’t get everything it needs are the absolute foundations of being able to nourish ourselves properly.
The Practicalities:
How do we ensure all the bases are covered when life is so busy, food costs (and the energy costs of cooking) are high, and we have any number of other factors, people and restrictions to consider? Learn how to develop ways of shopping, cooking and eating that are budget, time, and household friendly!
Health & Diet Focuses:
Learn how to ensure all your crucial systems are functioning well, how to spot when things go awry, and how to resolve most imbalances yourself. Things can change as we age, through periods of stress, and as a result of natural life stages. We look at the gut, hormones, mental health, and weight management.
