If you’ve ever wished you could be a confident cook, be more creative in the kitchen, eat more healthily or just enjoy cooking more, then this is for you!

So often the missing piece of the puzzle with those seeking better health, wishing to improve diagnosed illness, find success with permanent habit change, achieve long term weight management, or just make the kitchen and its table the heart of the home, is cooking real food from scratch.

Even those who learned to cook when they were growing up can find that they need a boost to inspiration, motivation or inclination from time to time! Experiencing health problems can also mean that our usual way of eating needs to change to incorporate different nutrients or exclude foods we have eaten for years.

The most common reasons people tell me that they don’t eat fresh food often enough is because they don’t know where to start or how best to put the right meals and snacks together into a daily way of eating that fits into their lives, their budgets and the time they have to shop, prepare and cook.

My mission has always been to help people understand their bodies’ needs, and how that translates into what and how they eat, making nourishment an achievable, enjoyable habit that lasts the rest of their lives.

Evolution into true culinary medicine with the launching of the cookery school in 2024 feels like a final piece of the Functional Foodie philosophy supporting every possible aspect that any person who lands here seeking better health might need.

If real food and how to make it your way of everyday eating is what you’re after, keep your eye on the courses and events coming up. Courses will be filmed and available online; there will be in person events here at the cookery school and larger events streamed online to be available for larger numbers live. Find out more on the Cookery School page.

Existing nutrition courses will have additional content added to include cookery demo videos of the recommended foods and nutrients, and the online cookery courses will cover both nutrition, health and food-related subjects.

If it’s a specific subject you’d like help with, be it health or everyday food, you can book personalised cookery sessions, either at the school or online. Email me to tell me what you’d like to do, and we’ll arrange the when, where and how.

Look out too for clubs and events allowing the whole family to get confident and creative in the kitchen with me!

Join the Foodie Family email list for all the news on classes and events first, plus discount codes only available for subscribers, and subscriber-only recipes. Two free healthy foodie resources will be sent when you sign up to give you a few ideas and recipes to get things started.

It will be a busy and exciting year – I’m so looking forward to cooking with you!
